Pepper price today January 15, 2025: Domestic price decreased, Indonesian pepper increased sharply
Today's domestic pepper price, January 15, is at 145,000 - 147,000 VND/kg. It continues to decrease sharply from 1,000 to 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. In the world market, Indonesian pepper prices suddenly skyrocketed.
Domestic pepper price today
The highest pepper purchase price in key pepper growing areas (Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc) was recorded at 147,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, in Dak Nong province, pepper price is at 146,000 VND/kg. A sharp decrease of 1,200 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Gia Lai, pepper price is 145,000 VND/kg. A sharp decrease of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, in Dak Lak, pepper price is 145,000 VND/kg. A sharp decrease of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai, pepper price today is at 146,000 VND/kg. Decreased 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, pepper price today is at 147,000 VND/kg. Unchanged compared to yesterday.
Thus, today's pepper price in the domestic market is currently at its lowest price of 145,000 VND/kg.

According to preliminary data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), by the end of 2024, Vietnam had exported a total of 250,600 tons of pepper of all kinds, of which black pepper reached 220,269 tons and white pepper reached 30,331 tons.
Total export turnover reached 1.32 billion USD, including 1.117 billion USD of black pepper and 200.6 million USD of white pepper. Compared to 2023, the export volume decreased by 5.1%, but the turnover increased by 45.4%.
The average export price of black pepper in 2024 will reach 5,154 USD/ton, up 49.7% and white pepper will reach 6,884 USD/ton, up 38.9% over last year.
World pepper price today
In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on January 15 (local time) as follows:
The price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper increased sharply compared to yesterday, reaching 7,155 USD/ton (up 4.39%). In addition, the price of Muntok white pepper also increased sharply compared to yesterday, reaching 9,248 USD/ton (up 3.19%).
Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 6,350/ton.
Malaysia's ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $8,700/ton. In addition, the country's ASTA white pepper price also remained unchanged from yesterday at $11,100/ton.
Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,350 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,650 USD/ton.
Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,550/ton.
According to the Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center (VITIC), Brazil is currently the second largest pepper producer and exporter in the world, after Vietnam, accounting for 17-18% of the global market share. However, Brazil's pepper exports in 2024 decreased sharply by 23.6% compared to the previous year, down to 61,665 tons, due to the impact of the El Nino phenomenon and low output.
Meanwhile, Vietnam's pepper exports to the US reached a record 73,710 tons, worth 407.6 million USD, up 34% in volume and 84.2% in value compared to 2023. As of November 2024, the US imported a total of 90,655 tons of pepper, worth 475.23 million USD, up 44.3% in volume and 64.9% in value compared to the same period last year.
Global pepper output is forecast to fall to 533,000 tonnes in 2024, with major declines from India and Vietnam. However, in 2025, Vietnam’s pepper output could recover to around 200,000 tonnes, while India continues to face a decline of around 25-30%.
