Domestic pepper prices in October are expected to remain at 146,000 - 150,000 VND/kg, greatly affected by weather and unstable supply.
In the international market, pepper prices are also forecast to fluctuate, with no clear signs of a breakthrough. The most important factors determining the current price level are extreme weather conditions and the instability of supply from major production areas.
In the long term, if Vietnam wants to maintain its position as an “export powerhouse”, it needs to rely on two pillars: improving quality standards and building a sustainable export strategy. When meeting international standards, Vietnam’s pepper products will not only maintain their value but also reduce risks from global market fluctuations.
Despite many difficulties ahead, experts expect the Vietnamese pepper industry to continue to assert its position on the world spice map. If it takes advantage of opportunities from increased demand in major markets and invests deeply in processing, the export value of pepper in the future could be even higher than the current level.
