Current weather conditions are quite favorable for the pepper harvest season. Dak Nong and Lam Dong have harvested about 50% of the area, Gia Lai reached 40%, Dak Lak 20%, while the Southeast region such as Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc and Ba Ria - Vung Tau reached about 30%.
This year, the harvest progress is slower than usual as farmers let peppers ripen longer to increase the weight and value of the product before selling.
Exporters and traders are now actively building up their reserves in anticipation of rising prices. However, they are facing financial challenges as high interest rates reduce their profits.
In addition, cash flow during the purchasing season is also difficult, limiting many businesses' access to capital, affecting purchasing and storage activities.
