World gold price today October 2, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 10:30 on October 2, Vietnam time, was 3,866.07 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 1.93 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,435 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 123.2 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the gold bar price is 14.8 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
Domestic gold prices in early October became more exciting than ever when both SJC gold bar prices and plain gold ring prices recorded record highs. This development coincided with the upward trend in the international market, where gold prices were approaching the 3,900 USD/ounce mark in just one trading session.
In September, the price of gold increased by 480 USD/ounce, equivalent to 14%. This was one of the strongest price increases in history, bringing the world gold price to a new peak and attracting special attention from global investors.
According to analysts, the news of the US government shutdown has raised concerns about the growing burden of public debt. This factor has boosted the demand for safe assets such as gold.
BMO Capital Markets has just raised its forecast for gold prices in the fourth quarter of 2025 to an average of $3,900 per ounce, up about 8% from the previous forecast. By 2026, gold prices are likely to surpass the $4,000 per ounce mark.
Despite the continuous increase in domestic gold prices, the demand for gold has not cooled down. At large gold shops in Hanoi, especially on Tran Nhan Tong Street, the sight of hundreds of people lining up to buy gold has become familiar.
Ms. Bich Hang (Hanoi) shared that she had to come to the store at 7:30 am to get a number, because if she came after 10 am, the store usually stopped giving out tickets. She said: “Every day I can only buy 2 taels. Today they let me buy 5 taels, I am really happy because I can buy more.”
Not only Ms. Hang, but almost 9/10 people present at the stores came with the purpose of buying gold. Customers wrote their names and numbers on white paper to reserve their seats. When it was time to open, the staff announced that each person could buy a maximum of 5 taels of gold rings, making many people excited because they could own more gold than the previous days.
At the store across the street, the rules are stricter, customers can only buy and take home a maximum of 3 taels. If they want to buy more, they must sign a contract, pay in advance and be given an appointment to return the goods on November 13.
