Gold and USD prices both fall, oil rebounds
Gold prices on the world market fell sharply after the US employment report exceeded forecasts. The USD price decreased slightly. Meanwhile, oil prices tended to increase.
At the end of the trading session on May 6, the buying price of 4-digit 9 gold bars at SJC Ho Chi Minh City was 66.35 million VND per tael and the selling price was 67.05 million VND per tael. The buying price of 4-digit 9 gold bars at SJC Hanoi was listed at 66.35 million VND per tael and the selling price was 67.07 million VND.
Doji Hanoi listed the price at 66.4 million VND per tael for buying and 67.1 million VND per tael for selling.
On the world market, the spot gold price on May 6, Vietnam time, was at 2,017.6 USD per ounce. The futures gold price was traded at 2,024.8 USD per ounce.

World gold prices fell in the last trading session of the week after the US employment report exceeded forecasts. Better-than-expected employment data put pressure on gold prices.
Another factor that negatively affected gold prices was the increase in 10-year bond yields, which reduced the attractiveness of gold.
Previously, the world gold price increased sharply due to concerns about the US banking crisis, which boosted demand for gold to preserve assets.
On the stock market, in the last trading session of the week on May 5, VN-Index decreased slightly. At the end of the trading session, VN-Index decreased by 0.3 points, down to 1,040.31 points. HNX-Index decreased by 0.35 points, down to 207.8 points. UpCoM-Index increased by 0.29 points, up to 77.56 points.
Regarding the dollar price, the exchange rate of Vietnamese Dong against the US dollar was listed by the State Bank on May 6 at 23,622 VND per USD. The reference exchange rate at the State Bank's Transaction Office on May 5 was 23,450 VND for buying and 24,753 VND for selling.
In the world, the price of the US dollar decreased slightly. The DXY index measuring the fluctuations of the US dollar against a basket of 6 major currencies at 7:51 p.m. on May 6, Vietnam time, fell to 101.28 points, down 0.12% compared to the previous session.
Meanwhile, world oil prices have been on an upward trend. Brent crude oil prices ended the week at $75.3 per barrel, while WTI crude oil prices closed the week at $71.34 per barrel.
In the domestic market, the selling prices of gasoline and oil today are applied according to the prices at the May 4th management session of the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade.
Specifically, the price of RON 95 gasoline is 22,320 VND per liter. The price of E5 gasoline is down to 21,430 VND per liter. The price of diesel is 18,250 VND per liter. The price of kerosene is 18,520 VND per liter.
