Two major bus stations in Ho Chi Minh City, the Eastern and Western bus stations, have just announced their service plans for the April 30 and May 1 holidays. Ticket prices are expected to increase by 20-40% compared to normal days.

This year's April 30 and May 1 holidays fall on a weekend, so workers will have 4 consecutive days off (from April 29, 2017 to May 2, 2017) and the time to start serving passengers during the holidays is from the evening of April 28, 2017.

Mien Dong Bus Station forecasts that this year's output will increase by about 3% compared to the same period last year, with passengers mainly concentrated on short-medium distance routes and entertainment areas on routes from Quang Ngai, the Central Highlands to the South, the Western region and especially routes to tourist centers such as Vung Tau, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, Nha Trang...

The peak is on April 30, with an estimated 48,500 passengers passing through the station. Ticket prices during this time will increase by 20% - 40% compared to normal ticket prices. Specifically, ticket prices from Mien Dong bus station to Ba Ria - Vung Tau will be surcharged no more than 30% from April 29 and 30; routes to Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai will be surcharged no more than 30% from April 28 to 30; routes from Mien Dong bus station to the Central Highlands provinces, from Binh Thuan to Quang Ngai will be surcharged no more than 40% from April 28 to 30.

At Mien Tay bus station, the peak passenger service period is from April 28 to May 2. The number of passengers traveling during the April 30 and May 1 holidays is expected to be similar to the same period last year. The peak days of April 30 and May 1 are expected to have about 56,000 to 58,000 passengers per day, mainly traveling to the provinces of Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Can Tho, Ba Ria Vung Tau... Ticket prices during peak periods will not increase by more than 40% compared to normal days and there will only be a surcharge on April 29 and 30.

The bus stations have also prepared plans for vehicles, badges, and proactively diverted routes... The station plans to contract 60 buses to be ready to relieve passengers during peak times. Security and order, fire prevention, coordination with local police, traffic police, traffic inspectors... to ensure traffic flow in bus station areas have also been strengthened./.
