According to the initial investigation, around October 2016, due to the family's difficult economic conditions and her father's serious illness, Luong Thi H. listened to the enticement of a woman named Duyet - the sister-in-law of H.'s mother-in-law - to go to China to do "light work with high salary".
At the end of October 2016, Luong Thi H. was taken to China by Duyet's son, Vi Van Truong, through an illegal route. As soon as she arrived in China, H. was forced by Vi Van Truong and her younger sister, Vi Thi Sau, to marry a Chinese man or she would be sold into prostitution.
With no other way to escape, Luong Thi H. had to accept and was sold as a wife to a Chinese man for 950,000 NDT.
On February 4, 2018, Luong Thi H. was rescued and brought back to Vietnam safely by the Nghe An Provincial Police Investigation Agency in coordination with Mong Cai City Police, Quang Ninh, Blue Dragon Children's Organization, and Quy Hop District Police.
Nghe An Provincial Police Department's Criminal Police Department has contacted and handed over the victim to his family, and is continuing to investigate and clarify the subjects involved in the case.
