Director of selling 'ghost' project arrested
Do Son Tung, 37 years old, General Director of Dong Nai Real Estate Company, drew up the Nice Town project on agricultural land, sold it to hundreds of people, and appropriated money.
On August 27, Tung was temporarily detained by Dong Nai Province Police for 4 months for his behavior.Fraudulent appropriation of property.
Searching the company headquarters in Tan Hiep ward, Bien Hoa city, and the suspect's private home, the police seized documents, hundreds of sales contracts, and transactions with customers.

According to the investigation, during the land fever in 2019, Tung hired someone to draw up the Nice Town residential project on an agricultural land of more than 10 hectares in Bau Ham commune, Trang Bom district. Tung's company advertised and sold from 200 to 300 million VND per 100 m2 lot. It is estimated that hundreds of people signed purchase contracts, Tung's company earned tens of billions of VND.
After nearly 3 years of not receiving the red book as Tung promised, the customer demanded a refund but failed. During the investigation, Dong Nai Provincial Police determined that the authorities did not grant a license to form the "Nice Town residential area" as Tung advertised.
Recently, a series of real estate company directors have been arrested for fraudulently selling virtual land to customers. The situation of land subdivision and sale in Dong Nai is complicated. Provincial leaders have issued many documents directing localities to strengthen close supervision.
