Quynh Luu district has issued administrative fines to 4 drug dealers with a total amount of 13 million VND; to 2 medical facilities with a total amount of 55 million VND; and to suspend and remove the signs of 2 home medical facilities.

However, there are still 13 unlicensed facilities, mainly focusing on specialized practices such as dentistry and oriental medicine.

At the working session, members of the monitoring delegation of the Culture - Society Committee, Provincial People's Council pointed out a number of existing problems in private medical and pharmaceutical practice in Quynh Luu area through a survey conducted the same morning.

There are some pharmacists who do not have a practicing certificate, and clinics that practice beyond the permitted scope. The number of licensed private medical and pharmaceutical establishments is still different between the data reported by the Department of Health to the Provincial People's Council and the data reported by Quynh Luu district; especially the effectiveness and efficiency in handling violating establishments is not high.

Faced with the current violations of medical and pharmaceutical establishments in the area through a survey conducted the same morning by the Culture - Society Committee of the Provincial People's Council, Director of the Department of Health Bui Dinh Long requested that Quynh Luu district immediately close down all unlicensed establishments and at the same time announce it to the media for the people to know.

Based on this situation, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district conducted a general inspection of medical and pharmaceutical establishments in the area; established an interdisciplinary inspection team and made serious recommendations during the inspection.

Agreeing with the above opinion, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan - Deputy Head of the Specialized Committee, Culture - Society Committee, Provincial People's Council requested Quynh Luu to update the licensed medical and pharmaceutical establishments in the area to do a good job of State management; promote post-licensing management.
