Director of Department of Health: Nghe An has basically controlled the epidemic
(Baonghean.vn) - According to Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh, Nghe An has basically controlled the epidemic, and all localities will transition to a new normal state in the next few days.
On the evening of September 20, Nghe An Department of Health held an online conference with 21 medical centers of districts, cities and towns on Covid-19 prevention and control in the new phase. Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of the Department of Health chaired the conference.
According to the Director of the Department of Health, the epidemic situation in the province has been basically controlled. In Vinh City, there have been no new infections recorded for 3 consecutive days, even in quarantine areas. Meanwhile, most other localities have also gone through more than 10 days without recording any infections in the community. Currently, only Vinh City, Que Phong and some communes in Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, and Nam Dan must practice social distancing according to Directive 15, all other localities have changed their status to Directive 19.

“It is expected that in the next 1 or 2 days, the unit will also advise the remaining localities to change the status to Directive 19,” said Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh. However, he also emphasized that the epidemic can break out at any time, in any locality. Especially in the context of the epidemic situation across the country is still very complicated, there are still people returning from epidemic localities by road.
Therefore, controlling people traveling to and returning from epidemic areas is very difficult; while a part of the population is still subjective and does not comply with epidemic prevention regulations. Also at the conference, the Director of the Department of Health directly "questioned" a number of Health Station Chiefs, and at the same time analyzed a number of shortcomings and limitations in the epidemic prevention work in the past time to promptly correct them.
Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the head of Nghe An Health Department requested that units absolutely not be subjective, complacent, and not loosen their leadership and direction in epidemic prevention. Regularly update new measures and professional instructions, proactively advise the District Steering Committee to promptly deploy epidemic prevention measures.
It is necessary to develop scenarios suitable for each locality, identifying each commune, ward and town as a "fortress", each citizen as a "soldier", as the subject in epidemic prevention and control. Maximize the role of community COVID teams and self-management teams in the locality in managing and closely monitoring the movement of people's residence and stay, and vehicles entering and leaving the locality; promptly detect and strictly handle cases of non-compliance with regulations on epidemic prevention and control as prescribed.
Regularly review and update plans, adjust the organization of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign appropriately, ensure timely and correct vaccination of the right subjects, and ensure security, order and safety at vaccination sites in the area.
Strengthen communication work, continuously in many forms and multimedia to raise people's awareness, continue to maintain the movement of the whole people participating in epidemic prevention in all residential areas, deploy strong, practical and effective activities. Mobilize cases with symptoms of cough, fever, etc. to proactively declare their health to receive support, take samples for testing and timely health monitoring at commune/ward/town health stations and other medical units.
Urgently review the capacity and actual conditions in the area to advise the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to issue a plan to establish a model of mobile medical stations in the locality...
