Duc Xuan Parish celebrates 50th anniversary

Although it was established in 1969 from the merger of Duc Vong and Xuan Mai parishes of Loc My parish, Nghi Quang commune, Nghi Loc district, Duc Xuan parish has a long history, located at one of the first seaports where Catholicism entered Nghe An province.

In 1988, to facilitate the parishioners in religious activities, Duc Xuan parish was separated from Loc My parish and merged into Tan Loc parish.
Along with the process of formation and development over the past 50 years, the parish now has 300 households with nearly 1,400 parishioners, living mainly by fishing and service business; with Father Nguyen Dinh Thang as parish priest since July 2018 until now.

At the ceremony, the parish reviewed the past journey, expressed gratitude for the contributions of many generations of parish priests, the parish pastoral council, and the parish. At the same time, they called on parishioners in the area to join hands and hearts to build a parish that is strong in faith, participate effectively in social work in the spirit of "Respecting God and loving the country", and living a good life and a good religion.
