(Baonghean.vn)- The Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Province Police has just issued a decision to prosecute the murder case that occurred on the Quan Banh crossroads overpass (Vinh city) on the night of October 28, 2016; prosecuted 1 defendant for murder and summoned 4 related subjects to take statements to continue investigating and clarifying the actions of the subjects in this case.

Caught right after the night of the crime

At around 10:00 p.m. on October 28, 2016, the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police received a report from the Vinh City Police about a knife and sword fight on the Quan Banh overpass between two groups of young men. Nguyen Tho Phuc (born in 1992), residing in Dai Son Commune, Do Luong, was chased and severely beaten by a group of people. He died on the way to Hanoi for emergency treatment. After receiving the report, that same night, investigators and detectives of the Criminal Police Department quickly arrived at the scene, coordinated with professional units of the Provincial Police and Vinh City Police to conduct a crime scene investigation, autopsy and deploy investigation forces.

Moreover, the victim did not live in Vinh City, so the process of verifying the victim's relationships to find the cause was not easy.

From the collected evidence, determining that this is a murder case with many complicated details, the Provincial Police Department has initiated a "Murder" case to focus on investigating and clarifying.

After a night of urgently collecting documents and evidence, on the afternoon of October 29, the subjects related to the case were arrested, namely Nguyen Duy Thao (born in 1998), Nguyen Duy Dong (born in 1992), both residing in Thanh Luong commune, Thanh Chuong district; Phan Van The (born in 1990) and Nguyen Xuan Quynh (born in 1989), both residing in Vinh Tan ward, Vinh city. Nguyen Duy Thao, the subject who directly used a sword to slash the victim Nguyen Tho Phuc's head, leading to his death, was prosecuted for murder.

At the Provincial Police Investigation Agency, the above subjects confessed: On the evening of October 28, Thao and Dong attended a friend's birthday party, then the group of young men invited each other to a karaoke bar on Dang Thai Mai Street (Vinh City) to sing karaoke.

While singing karaoke, Thao and Dong had a conflict with Nguyen Sy Minh because Minh refused to drink beer with Thao and Dong. The two sides exchanged words and tried to fight right at the karaoke bar but were stopped.

After that, Thao and Minh still made an appointment to meet at Quan Banh overpass (Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city) to resolve the conflict. Thao and Dong rode a motorbike to Thao's company at 9B, Mai Hac De street, Vinh city, took a sword and a sharp knife, then called The and Quynh to bring a three-section stick to the meeting place. Meanwhile, Nguyen Sy Minh also called Nguyen Tho Phuc (Minh's brother-in-law) and 2 other people to "support".

When they reached the overpass, the two groups started fighting. During the fight, Phuc was hit in the head by Thao's sword and collapsed on the street. Seeing that someone was seriously injured, Thao's group quickly called a taxi to leave the scene. Nguyen Tho Phuc was taken to the hospital by Nguyen Sy Minh's group but died shortly after.

The police seized 2 swords, 1 knife, and 1 three-section stick at the scene, prosecuted and detained Nguyen Duy Thao to continue investigating and completing the case file to handle the case according to the law.

The case also shows a reality that exists in today's society: just because of conflicts in daily life, some young people are willing to use weapons to resolve conflicts, leading to unfortunate consequences, causing loss of security and order in the locality.
