On the afternoon of June 26, the Investigation Police Agency of Binh Phuoc Province Police detained Nguyen Huy Hoang (born in 1985, residing in Minh Hung Commune, Chon Thanh District, Binh Phuoc; temporarily residing at Ngoc Lan Motel, Hamlet 9, Minh Hung Commune) for murder.

According to the investigation results: Ngoc Lan Motel is owned by Mr. Nguyen Minh H (born in 1957). At 8:00 p.m. on June 23, Hoang came home from work and the dog of Mr. Nguyen Minh Nguyen (born in 1984, son of Mr. H) barked, so Hoang chased the dog away but was scolded by Nguyen. During the argument, Hoang took a homemade knife from his rented room and stabbed Mr. Nguyen in the stomach, injuring the victim, and ran to the back of the motel. After committing the crime, Hoang fled the scene.

Immediately afterwards, Chon Thanh District Police organized a manhunt for the suspect. By the afternoon of June 24, detectives had captured Hoang while he was hiding in Tan Khai Commune, Hon Quan District, Binh Phuoc. On the same day, Mr. H’s family discovered their son lying dead in the garden behind Ngoc Lan Motel.
