After being pulled ashore, jellyfish are bought on the spot by small traders. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, a fisherwoman from Hamlet 4, Dien Hai Commune, this year is a good season, with some days yielding 500 kg of jellyfish. The price for fresh jellyfish sold to traders is 120,000 VND per 100 kg. |

Mr. Pham Van Thanh, owner of a jellyfish processing facility in Hoang Chau hamlet, Dien Kim commune, said: After initial sorting, the jellyfish are put into a rotary cutting machine for 8-9 hours to remove the slime, then washed clean and salted for 7-10 days before being sold. He produces about 200 tons of finished product daily, providing regular employment.for 5 workers. |

Ms. Thuy, owner of Thuy Dang restaurant (Dien Hai coastal tourist area), said: "To make a delicious jellyfish salad, you must choose firm, white jellyfish, wash them 7-8 times with cold water, then pour boiling water over them and mash them, drain the water, finely chop carrots, mango, garlic, sugar, lemon, and spices, mix well, add pepper, chili, peanuts, rice flour, and enjoy." |
