GM recalls nearly 4.3 million vehicles due to airbag defect
American car company GM is recalling 4.28 million vehicles worldwide due to faulty airbag control software.
According to GM's announcement, the airbag defect in its models has caused at least one death and three injuries. The US Department of Transportation's records indicate that the cause of this recall is related to the front airbag and seat belt defect in the event of a collision. If the airbag does not deploy when needed, it will increase the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.

The airbag problem on GM vehicles was discovered in May, when a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was involved in an accident and the airbag did not deploy. The American car company then notified its supplier Delphi and the two companies conducted inspections and recalled the defective products.
GM will update the software free of charge and dealers are responsible for notifying customers about this recall.
The recalled vehicles include the Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet SS, Spark EV, Buick Encore, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Corvette, Trax, Caprice, Silverado, Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado HD, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, and Sierra HD.
