(Baonghean.vn) - At the Youth Union Congress of Vinh University, Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa - Party Secretary and Principal of the school requested that the Youth Union regularly innovate its working methods to improve quality and create new points, bearing the unique mark of a school with a long tradition.

The political report of the 29th Executive Committee of the Youth Union at the 30th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vinh University, term 2017 - 2022 stated: "The student volunteer movement and scientific research are typical features in the Youth Union work and youth movement of Vinh University and is always the leading unit in the youth volunteer movement of Nghe An province and the whole country.

The general goal of the Youth Union and youth movement of Vinh University, term XXX, 2017 - 2022 is: "Building Vinh University Youth Union to be strong in organization, diverse in content and forms of activities, creating a favorable environment for young union members to strive to study, practice, start a business, contributing to building the University into a key national university, a place to create the future for young people".

The action slogan of the 30th Congress of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vinh University, term 2017 - 2022 is "Youth of Vinh University: Solidarity - Creativity - Agility - Integration".

The report also pointed out the advantages, difficulties and directions for the coming time, affirming the accompanying role of the Youth Union with students in all fields of volunteering, studying, scientific research and creative startups, contributing to building Vinh University into a key national university, especially after the restructuring period.

In addition to effectively implementing political education, ideology, tradition education, ethics education, and lifestyle education for generations of students. During the past term, Vinh University Youth Union established 184 volunteer teams with 6,767 volunteers to carry out 53 projects and tasks at the facility; organized 14 voluntary blood donation campaigns, collecting 4,842 units of blood. Donated items and more than 800 million VND in cash to help people affected by natural disasters, children in difficult areas, and students in difficult circumstances to strive to study and practice well...

There are 393 students achieving the title of excellent student, 4,077 students achieving the title of good student; 54 students graduating with excellence, 1,494 students graduating with honors; completing more than 2,000 scientific research topics, 17 scientific research projects participating in and winning the award "Young Vietnamese scientific talent". Every year, 79 groups and 125 individuals with outstanding achievements in the student scientific research movement are commended by the School Principal.

Speaking at the Congress, Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa affirmed and acknowledged the contributions of generations and the Youth Union movement of Vinh University in the past term to the building of the movement of learning and scientific research; promoting the spirit of responsibility, collective and individual intelligence to promote the tradition of initiative and creativity of the school's youth union members.

Professor Dinh Xuan Khoa emphasized that: "University is the most important time to study and train to help students establish themselves and start a career."

Therefore, Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa suggested that the Youth Union at all levels should have high determination and make great efforts to complete the tasks, focus on building and consolidating political capacity; promote international integration activities in all fields, especially creative start-ups. At the same time, he suggested that the congress and delegates study and innovate the methods of working with the Youth Union and the youth movement to improve the quality and create new and outstanding features for the youth of Vinh University in particular and the youth of the province in general.

Appreciating the achievements of Vinh University Youth Union in the past term in many activities, Comrade Pham Tuan Vinh - Member of the Central Youth Union, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union affirmed that Vinh University is the leading unit in many youth movement activities in the province and in the country. Comrade Pham Tuan Vinh also noted some contents that the Youth Union needs to promote in the coming time such as: strengthening the Party's political and ideological education, maintaining faith and seeing one's own responsibility towards the Party's revolutionary cause.

Encourage and motivate students to study, conduct scientific research and be creative so that after graduation, students can find jobs and affirm their role and position in society. Raise the quality of the youth volunteer movement to a new level with the motto of focusing on quality, work efficiency and international integration and connection, especially with students from Laos.

At the congress, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union awarded the Emulation Flag to Vinh University Youth Union for its outstanding achievements in youth union work and youth movement in the 2012-2017 term; awarded Certificates of Merit to 9 collectives with outstanding achievements in the learning movement in the 2015-2016 school year.

The Congress awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 6 groups and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2016 summer volunteer campaign; Certificates of Merit from the Central Youth Union to 7 groups and 5 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Youth Union work and youth movement in the 2015-2016 school year. Certificates of Merit from the Executive Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union to 9 groups with outstanding achievements in the learning movement in the 2015-2016 school year.

The congress elected 15 official comrades and 3 alternate delegates to attend the 17th Nghe An Provincial Youth Union Congress.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of Vinh University Youth Union, term XXX, 2017 - 2022, consisting of 27 comrades; of which 9 comrades were elected to the Standing Committee; and elected comrade Thieu Dinh Phong as Secretary of the Youth Union./.
