Two brothers "exchanged" 1 million VND for 10 years and 6 months in prison
(Baonghean.vn) - For just 1 million VND in wages, Hai and his younger brother agreed to transport 142.6 kg of firecrackers from Kon Tum to Vinh City.
On the morning of October 19, Nghi Loc District People's Court opened a mobile criminal trial for the case of transporting prohibited goods against two brothers Pham Van Hai (born 1987) and Pham Thanh Hung (born 1998), residing in Song An commune, An Khe town, Gia Lai province.

According to the indictment, at around 7:20 p.m. on January 23, 2018, at the Vinh bypass in Hamlet 1, Nghi Van Commune, Nghi Loc District, Hai stopped his car on the side of the road, Hung took out firecrackers to deliver to a man and was caught red-handed by Vinh City Police. The police seized 142.6 kg of firecrackers.
Hai and Hung confessed to transporting these fireworks for hire for a man from Kon Tum province to Vinh city to receive a salary of 1 million VND.
At the trial, Hung and Hai confessed their crimes. Considering that the two defendants were first-time offenders, had no previous criminal records, and due to lack of knowledge, only for immediate profit, they violated the law.
The People's Court sentenced Pham Thanh Hung to 5 years and 6 months in prison and Pham Van Hai to 5 years in prison./.
