(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 27, the Department of Education and Training held a closing ceremony for the Provincial Competition for Excellent Classroom Teachers at the Secondary School Level, 2022.

The contest aims to foster a team of homeroom teachers with good professional skills and solid expertise; create conditions for teachers to exchange, learn, enrich knowledge, improve understanding, skills and pedagogical capacity.

This is one of the important and practical professional activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20) in the whole industry.

This year’s competition has 241 junior high school teachers from 21 education and training departments across the province. These are teachers who have won the title of excellent teachers at the district level, have good capacity in homeroom work, and have initiatives in educational activities (homeroom work, experiential activities, etc.) from the grassroots level and above.

Particularly in the 2021-2022 school year, they are classified as having completed their tasks well or better according to the provisions of Decree No. 90/2020/ND[1]CP dated August 13, 2020 of the Government on assessing and classifying the quality of cadres, civil servants and public employees.

According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, coming to this year's contest, teachers all tried to prepare carefully, with quality content and form for the two contests "Presenting measures to contribute to improving the quality of homeroom work" and "Practicing organizing educational activities".

In the practical exam, there were 239 teachers taking the exam, of which, 138 teachers took the exam for Classroom Activities, 103 teachers took the exam for Experiential Activities and Career Guidance. The results of this exam showed that 238/239 teachers passed the practical exam according to regulations, of which, the average score of the 3 judges was from 19 points or more, 5 teachers had from 18 points to less than 19 points, 57 teachers had from 17 points to less than 18 points, 148 teachers had from 17 points to less than 18 points, the remaining 28 teachers had an average score of approximately 17 points.

Through synthesis, there are many highly rated lessons, such as the lessons of teacher Tran Thi Phuong, teacher Tran Thi Thuy - Dang Thai Mai Secondary School (Vinh City) both achieved an average of 19.5 points.

In addition, the contest recognized the passion, enthusiasm and enthusiasm for the work of homeroom teachers of many older teachers, typically teacher Le Thi Van - Ho Xuan Huong Secondary School (Quynh Luu), born in 1972 (50 years old); teacher Nguyen Ngoc Nam - Ton Quang Phiet Secondary School (Thanh Chuong); teacher Nguyen Thi Tuyet - Quynh Hau Secondary School (Quynh Luu); teacher Tran Thi Thu Hien - Nguyen Trai Secondary School (Tan Ky), all 48 and 49 years old, but still enthusiastically and passionately participated in the contest.

The contest also recognized the efforts of teachers in mountainous districts. At the contest, teacher Vi Thi On - Huu Kiem Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities and teacher Phan Thi Hoan - Nam Can Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities in Ky Son district, although their houses were swept away by floods, many valuable assets were swept away, the two teachers still overcame the flood and determined to participate in the contest and achieved good results.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee recognized 238 teachers as "Excellent homeroom teachers at the provincial level at secondary school level" in 2022. The valedictorians of the competition were Ms. Tran Thi Phuong and Ms. Tran Thi Thuy, both from Dang Thai Mai Secondary School (Vinh city).

Speaking at the contest, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Vo Van Mai congratulated the teachers recognized as excellent homeroom teachers in 2022. These are all excellent teachers, overcoming their circumstances and striving to achieve high results in the contest.

The Department's leaders also said that being a homeroom teacher is a difficult job, both doing professional work and being a homeroom teacher. Therefore, from the results of this competition, teachers should promote their role in the work of homeroom teachers in the locality and at the grassroots level, contributing to doing a good job of homeroom teachers in schools and improving the quality of teaching and learning.

Departments of education and training and schools also need to fully understand the role, significance and importance of homeroom teachers in each educational institution. From there, they will arrange and assign tasks, train and improve capacity, and recognize, motivate and reward those who work as homeroom teachers.

The contest also needs to continue to be spread to multiply good reports, good activities and further promote the meaning and value of the contest.

At the closing ceremony, the Provincial Labor Federation awarded Certificates of Merit to the 16 best teachers of the contest. The Director of the Department of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit to 8 groups and 50 individuals, and the Industry Union awarded 20 individuals with outstanding achievements in the contest.

Collective awards went to the Departments of Education and Training of Vinh City, Dien Chau, Do Luong, Thai Hoa Town, Nghia Dan, Thanh Chuong, Ky Son, and Anh Son.
