"Under the cover of Su-27 fighter jets, the pilots made flights to predetermined coordinates to observe the sea surface and also practiced training attacks on simulated enemy warships," the Western Military District press service said.
In total, more than 10 Baltic Fleet naval aircraft took part in the planned training.
According to the press, the training took place during the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) BALTOPS 2019 naval exercise, which began on June 9 in the Baltic Sea. 18 NATO member states participated with 44 warships, 40 aircraft and helicopters, as well as about 12,000 servicemen.
