(Baonghean.vn) - A few days after fixed-route bus drivers protested against illegal buses and buses running off-route, authorities fined two sleeper buses running off-route more than 20 million VND.

On March 11, Ky Son District Police said that the unit had just coordinated with the Traffic Inspectorate (Nghe An Department of Transport) to handle 2 sleeper buses running in the wrong direction to Muong Xen town to pick up passengers.

Specifically, on the morning of March 10, the Traffic Police - Order Team of Ky Son District Police coordinated with the Traffic Inspectorate to inspect two sleeper buses of Hung Thang Bus Company with license plate 81B-015.13 and a passenger car with license plate 81B-016.51 traveling on National Highway 7 through this district.

Upon inspection, both vehicles were found to be not operating on the prescribed route. The task force then issued a record of administrative violations with a total fine of over 20 million VND.

Dozens of drivers even hung banners in front of their buses and drove to Bac Vinh Bus Station to protest. According to the drivers, although they are not licensed to run to Tuong Duong and Ky Son, sleeper buses running from Nghe An to the southern and northern provinces still continuously pull their buses up to this area to pick up passengers, even short-distance passengers, causing unhealthy competition.
