Thousands of tourists cancel plans to Nghe An due to storm

(Baonghean.vn) - Before the news of storm No. 10, many travel agencies canceled tours to Nghe An, tourists checked out early, and thousands of tourists postponed their bookings until after the storm.

The Department of Tourism said that, in response to the complicated developments of storm No. 10, the Department has sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities; the Department's departments and offices, the Tourism Promotion Information Center and tourism businesses in the province. Accordingly, it is required to inspect and direct tourist areas, destinations, accommodation establishments and tourism businesses in the management area to provide timely guidance on storm prevention and control plans.

Up to now, accommodation establishments and tourism businesses have complied with the Department's dispatch. Most travel agencies have canceled tours to Nghe An; propaganda work for tourists has been fully implemented; restaurants, motels and hotels have tied, supported and anchored cables to ensure safety for people and facilities.

Notably, almost all tourists staying in Nghe An have checked out ahead of schedule, and thousands of tourists have announced that they will postpone their bookings until after the storm.

Quick statistics at some large hotels in the area: Muong Thanh Song Lam Hotel (Vinh City) has a group of 1,500 guests rescheduling; Vinpearl Cua Hoi resort villa has 200 guests canceling their rooms...

Currently, the number of guests staying at hotels in the province is not much: Muong Thanh Song Lam Hotel (Vinh City) has 140 guests left, Vinpearl Cua Hoi has 30 guests left, Summer Hotel (Cua Lo Town) has about 15 rooms with guests left...
