'Happiness to be an artist in a soldier's uniform'
(Baonghean.vn) - Colonel, People's Artist Hoang Thanh is known as a talented orchestra conductor and art director who has a great influence in the military art environment. When mentioning him, people remember the talented instrumental musician and composer, and the famous songs with the strong Nghe An character.
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, Nghe An Newspaper had a conversation with Colonel, People's Artist Hoang Thanh - Former Head of the Art Troupe of Military Region 4.
PV:Sir, it is known that you attended the Vietnam Music School in the 70s and had early success as a passionate and enthusiastic musician?
Colonel, People's Artist Hoang Thanh:Since I was a child, I have loved musical instruments and dreamed of becoming a musician when I grew up, playing on the keys and listening to the sounds I created when I joined an orchestra. When I entered the National Music School with the Accordion subject, like a fish in water, I learned this extremely charming musical instrument very well. Later, I was assigned to the Military Region 4 Art Troupe, as a musician who only played an independent instrument in the troupe's string orchestra, but for me, it was an honor, pride and a whole artistic horizon opened up before my eyes with the passionate ambition of youth. The Accordion always makes the player feel like they are floating with strange music, even though it is just one instrument but it sounds like an orchestra. Therefore, the musician can both harmonize and play solo, that is what makes people passionate when playing this musical instrument.
I still remember, during the war years, when the movement of “singing to drown out the sound of bombs” was always the operating criterion of the military artists, we always took on the frontline mission of serving the soldiers in trenches and tunnels. With that sacred political mission, we always brought all the passion and love of art of youth to the farthest, deepest, most dangerous places. When the soldiers on the battlefield were close to death, we were also close to them to bring joy, love of homeland, love of the Fatherland and indomitable courage before the enemy.
