Vinh City meets to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army
On the morning of December 18, Vinh city held a meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).
At the Meeting, city leaders and 805 delegates, including officers, professional soldiers, and retired military officers in Vinh city, reviewed the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army and the armed forces in 80 years of building, fighting and growing.
Over the past years, under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the Provincial Military Command, the City Party Committee, the People's Council and the City People's Committee, the city's armed forces have promoted the spirit of solidarity, creativity, proactively overcome all difficulties, and comprehensively completed the military and defense goals and targets for the 2020-2025 term.
Well performing the function of advising on leadership and direction in building the national defense posture associated with the people's security posture, building an increasingly solid city defense area. The overall quality, political mettle, strength, level and combat readiness of the city's armed forces have been improved, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety in the area, creating favorable conditions for the city's socio-economic development; being the core, shock force, leading the way in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, epidemics, searching and rescuing.
Every year, complete 100% of military recruitment targets; have many innovations in training, drills, competitions, and sports events with high results; excellently complete the task of practicing the city's defense zone in 2022; direct 25 wards and communes to organize combat drills in the defense zone, natural disaster prevention drills, and search and rescue with absolute safety. Pay attention to building a comprehensively strong "exemplary and typical" city armed force; the work of building discipline, discipline enforcement, and Party building has achieved positive results. Regularly ensure good logistics, finance, and technical work for the tasks.
Along with that, effectively carry out the work of mass mobilization, policies, gratitude, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas. With the achievements in all aspects of work in the past 5 years, the City Military Command has continuously been awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Military Region 4 Command and the People's Committee of Nghe An province.
Before the meeting, the city delegation laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroes and martyrs at Vinh City Martyrs Cemetery and visited and congratulated the Command of Military Region 4, the Provincial Military Command and the Border Guard of Nghe An Province.
