Pha Ca Tun has an altitude of nearly 2,500 m, ranking second in Nghe An, after Pu Xai Lai Leng. Next to Pha Ca Tun, there is Pha Phay peak which is over 2,200 m high. Both Pha Ca Tun and Pha Phay mountains are rocky mountains, belonging to the Truong Son range, located in the special-use forest of Pu Hoat Nature Reserve. The only way to conquer Pha Ca Tun peak can only start from the center of Tri Le commune up to Huoi Moi village, then continue deep into the core area of Pu Hoat Nature Reserve. Photo: Thanh Cuong |

Reaching the top of Pu Hoat has become the desire of many reporters of Nghe An Newspaper. We have been planning a trip to this mountain top, but it is not easy to carry out. It is hard work, of course. But to overcome 4 stages (from Tri Le center to Huoi Moi village; from Huoi Moi village to No So point; from No So point to the foot of Pha Phay mountain; from the foot of Pha Phay mountain, going uphill to Pu Hoat peak) in 2 days and 1 night, it is difficult to do with the strength of journalists alone. Luckily, our plan was enthusiastically supported by Pu Hoat Nature Reserve, the People's Committee of the commune and Tri Le Border Guard Station. After parking our car at the livestock farm of the Mong people, the group of reporters of Nghe An Newspaper and the working group of Pu Hoat Nature Reserve Management Board and Tri Le Border Guard Station continued walking and crossing the forest.
