'Golden hat-trick' of Nghe An boy at National Jujitsu Tournament
(Baonghean.vn) - Although it was his first time trying Jujitsu, Nguyen Tat Loc (born in 1999 in Thuong Son commune, Do Luong district) created a miracle at the "2023 National Jujitsu Championship" when he excellently won 3 prestigious Gold Medals.
The achievements of a multi-talented athlete
InNational Jujitsu Championship 2023Taking place in early September, the name Nguyen Tat Loc shone when he brought Nghe An 3 Gold Medals at the same time in 3 categories: No-gi, Fighting and Full contact.
However, few people know that this is Loc's first time competing in this sport. And before Jujitsu, Loc was known as the "golden boy" in two other sports: Wushu and Wrestling.

Nguyen Tat Loc said he was born in Thuong Son, Do Luong district, in a family of 4 brothers and sisters. During his junior high school years, Loc participated in many football matches atPhu Dong Sports Festivalschool level and caught the eye of some officials of the Do Luong District Cultural Center.
Until the summer of 9th grade, the District Cultural Center introduced Loc to some coaches at the Nghe An Sports Training and Coaching Center (now the Nghe An Sports Training and Competition Center) to participate in the Wushu competition.
Through rigorous physical tests such as 100m, 200m, 400m running, long jump, push-ups, horizontal bar..., Loc was recruited, officially leaving the land of Thuong Son (Do Luong) where he was born to go to Vinh city, spending his youth with Nghe An Sports and Physical Training Center.

The first surprise that Loc brought to everyone was the Gold Medal in Wushu at the 2015 National Youth Wushu Tournament. At that time, Loc had only been practicing professionally for more than a year.
When asked "What motivation has helped you make such "rapid progress" in conquering this sport?", Loc said that compared to other athletes, he entered the professional training path much later, so he always forced himself to work twice or three times harder.
"There were times when I wanted to give up because I couldn't escape the constant dizziness and nausea during practice. Along with that, my two ear cartilages were swollen due to injuries during sparring practice, which meant that for a long time I could only maintain one sleeping position. Daily activities were also extremely difficult with many bruises on my body," Nguyen Tat Loc shared.
However, with the encouragement of his coach, friends and relatives, Loc overcame everything. And the Gold Medal is the clearest proof of Loc's efforts and talent.

In 2016, Nguyen Tat Loc continued to try his hand at Wrestling. After more than 1 year of training, Loc won a Silver Medal at the 2017 National Classical and Freestyle Wrestling Championship held in Thai Nguyen. In 2019, Loc won 2 Silver Medals at the 2019 Southeast Asian Youth Wrestling Championship. It can be said that this was the first big turning point for Loc when he successfully tried his hand at international competitions.

After this event, Nguyen Tat Loc continued to reap many prestigious awards at major arenas, such as Gold Medal at the 2021 National Classical Freestyle Wrestling Championship; Silver Medal at the 2022 National Sports Congress in Traditional Wrestling; Gold Medal at the 2023 National Beach Wrestling Championship...
And also in 2023, Nguyen Tat Loc won 3 Gold Medals at the "2023 National Jujitsu Championship", marking a successful competition process after more than 8 years of not being afraid to test his limits in new disciplines.

Valuable experiences
To get the gold medal, Nguyen Tat Loc also suffered many failures. One of the failures that Loc will always remember was in 2018, when he participated in a traditional wrestling tournament held in his hometown of Nghe An.
In the qualifying round of the tournament, he played very well and became a strong candidate for the Gold Medal. Confident that he would win, Loc was somewhat subjective. In the final round, Loc faced an opponent he had defeated in the qualifying round. However, beyond Loc's calculations, his opponent took full advantage of his weaknesses and won convincingly.
Receiving the Bronze Medal, Loc felt extremely remorseful. It was also a valuable lesson that he received to remind himself not to be subjective in front of any opponent.

At the recent “2023 National Jujitsu Championship”, in the first competition, Nguyen Tat Loc was completely defeated by his opponents without receiving any medals. That opening difficulty more or less brought a small disappointment to him and his colleagues.
But then, in the next 3 events, Nguyen Tat Loc defeated his opponents to win 3 Gold Medals overall.

After all the joys and sorrows, what Nguyen Tat Loc cherishes the most is the coach who has followed him closely from the first day of training until now - Mr. Doan Xuan Luyen.
Loc shared that if there was no care, companionship and sharing from the coaches and teachers at Nghe An Sports Training and Competition Center, he probably would not have been able to reach out and touch the glory in his career. And that is also the motivation for Loc to strive to become the best version of himself in the present and the future!
