Accordingly, at 6:30 a.m. on April 8, 30 students ate rice balls sold at the Luong Van Hoa triangle bread kiosk, next to the gate of Doi Cung Secondary School. The ingredients for making rice balls include rice, sausage, carrots, eggs, seaweed, and soy sauce.

From 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon, 12 students at Do Luong Town Primary School (who ate rice balls sold at Luong Van Hoa triangle sandwich stall) had stomachaches and nausea.

The homeroom teacher took 12 children to the school health room for first aid, then transferred 8 children to the town health station for monitoring and treatment with an initial diagnosis of digestive disorders suspected of food poisoning; the remaining 4 children were taken by their families to Do Luong District General Hospital for monitoring and treatment... By 4 p.m. the same day, all 12 children were in stable health, no longer showing symptoms, so they were allowed to go home.

Immediately after the incident, in the morning of the same day, the authorities inspected the street food establishment. The results showed that: The processing area and the area were clean and separate from the contaminated area. During the processing, the owner wore gloves and protective gear... At this establishment, rice balls and triangular sandwiches were also sold. The children who ate the triangular sandwiches did not show any symptoms of poisoning.

Do Luong Medical Center stated: The cause of the poisoning is suspected to be the rice balls made by street food establishments and sold to students... Currently, Do Luong Medical Center is continuing to investigate to determine the specific cause.
