Students of Do Luong commune sent many meaningful messages to the contest "Be a girl to shine"
On the morning of November 8, in Do Luong commune, the Department of Health coordinated with Do Luong Medical Center to organize the contest "Be a girl to shine". This is a meaningful activity to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20.
The program has the participation of 3 teams: Sunflowers, Schoolyard Sunshine, Confident Roses; from grades 6, 7, 8 of Ly Nhat Quang Secondary School (Do Luong commune).
During 150 minutes, the teams will take turns going through the following rounds: Greeting - Self-introduction;Knowledge contest - "Affirmation" and Talent contest - "Shine". The contest content is related to topics of population, society, knowledge about adolescent reproductive health, gender equality, etc.

In the talent competition, students of Ly Nhat Quang Secondary School promoted the advantage of being the top quality school in the province with a speech on the topics of gender equality, girls should be confident, Vietnamese women shine forever in all eras... in many languages such as English, Chinese, flower arrangement competition combined with singing and dancing, martial arts competition...

Speaking at the contest, Mr. Nguyen Van Nam - Deputy Director of the Department of Health affirmed: Population work is a strategic task, both urgent and long-term; it is the cause of the whole Party and the whole people. In particular, communication work on improving population quality, reproductive health care for women, girls, adolescents/youth... has become widespread, meaningful and deeply ingrained activities in the whole society.
However, in addition to the achieved results, population and development work in Nghe An in general and Do Luong commune in particular still faces many difficulties and challenges. Adolescents and young people are facing many problems such as gender imbalance at birth, the situation of children and adolescents having sex early, abortion, violence, abuse, discrimination...

With the above meaning,Contest "Be a girl to shine"is a practical communication activity to strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the active participation of departments, branches, organizations, and people of all walks of life on gender and gender equality issues to enhance the role and position of girls in the family, community, and society.
This is also a meaningful playground for children to exchange culture and arts, to demonstrate their bravery, intelligence, creativity and confidence in each competition.


Through this contest, the organizers also send the message that being a girl is not only about physical beauty or artistic talent, but also about radiance from intelligence to soul, from understanding oneself, about physical and mental health, skills to behave harmoniously in society, especially the content related to population, adolescent reproductive health. When having knowledge and skills, girls will know how to care, love, cherish, and affirm their own value.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the Sunflower team; the second prize went to the Confident Rose Wings and Schoolyard Sunshine teams.
