Yesterday, I happened to read online the words of a university lecturer, sending a message to students who often complain and lament. They complained that they were about to be “kicked out” of university (about to graduate), would be unemployed, planned to sell goods here and there to make a living...
And the university lecturer said, "If you study in school without really trying hard and not being determined to practice your profession, then after several years of studying you will have nothing to bring to your job application.
Should blame yourself for living superficially and lazily.
Don't blame the school, don't complain about your family background...",
I think this comment is so true.
Right at my office, every year we welcome and guide a number of interns. Besides a few who work hard to hone their skills and gain experience, there are quite a few young people who are lazy in thinking and acting, making me wonder what they will do in the future, how they will live independently when they can no longer rely on their family and parents.
I once tried to do a small survey: while chatting, I asked young high school and university students what they liked and what they wanted to do in the near future… Surprisingly, many of them answered: they didn’t know what they liked, couldn’t decide what they would do in the future (or at least what they wanted to do).
Obviously, everyone wants to have a good job in the future and a good life; but how to achieve that is something many young people find vague and uncertain.
Imagine what society would be like if so many young people couldn't find their place and didn't feel happy?
A few years ago, authors Takashi Maeno, Masao Saeko and Yui Shinoda of Keio University in Japan conducted a survey of studies related to human happiness. They pointed out that since 1990, there have been many studies on happiness in the world. Many studies have shown that material wealth is not the fundamental factor that brings us happiness.
Studies have also shown many interesting things, which are: 1) women are often happier than men, 2) people with good health are happier, 3) increasing income makes people happier, 4) knowing many different people makes people happier, 5) having a purpose in life makes people happier, 6) having religious beliefs makes people happier, 7) being optimistic makes people happier, 9) showing gratitude makes people happier, 10) creating beautiful things to admire also makes people happier.
The research team of Keio University in Japan, after conducting research surveys, concluded that factors related to each person's happiness can be divided into two types: positional and non-positional. The priceable type (usually material things such as assets, nice cars, nice houses, good job positions, etc.) are unstable and unsustainable factors. The non-priceable type (reputation in career, love, affection with family, relationships with friends, etc.) is more meaningful and lasting.
The research team then analyzed the intangible factors that make people feel happy, such as: being kind, not giving up hope, being motivated to work, having a clear purpose, being optimistic, having positive relationships with others, etc. (Peace, safety and health are factors that were not included in the survey but were considered to be present by default). Finally, the research team concluded: four important factors that help people find happiness in life are: 1) Living with purpose and always learning new things, 2) Having gratitude and kindness between people, 3) Having a positive and optimistic attitude, 4) Always being yourself, steadfast in your own path.
Of course, as mentioned above, there are many different studies in the world on the issue of happiness, how people find happiness. Each person, especially young people, should choose for themselves a correct concept of happiness. At the threshold of life, you must determine what your purpose in life is and constantly learn. The years in school are the time to "load" the necessary knowledge and skills as provisions when entering life. Be honest and strict with yourself, to be grateful for what your family, friends, and society have done for you and see your responsibility not only to "receive" but also to contribute and share.
The most important thing is to find joy in life and spread good things. Then you will be happy./.
