Attending the meeting were Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council: Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Hoang Viet Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee; Heads of the Provincial People's Council: Ho Phuc Hop - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department.

Also attending were comrade Nguyen Thanh Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; representatives of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Provincial People's Committee Office.

According to the provisions of the Law on Organization of Local Government, in addition to the question-and-answer sessions at the Provincial People's Council meetings, based on urgent and prominent issues raised in the locality, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council can choose to question the State management agency to explain and clarify.

Based on many issues proposed by the Standing Committee and the Committees of the Provincial People's Council related to the trading and consumption of prohibited goods, smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, goods that do not ensure food safety and hygiene; the effectiveness of implementing and applying science and technology projects using the State budget; compliance with the management and operation procedures for power generation and flood discharge of hydroelectric plants...; at the meeting, the delegates discussed and agreed that the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council in April will question the Director of the Provincial Fire Police about the shortcomings and limitations in fire prevention and fighting work in the province.

Through that, clarify the current situation, causes and importantly, propose solutions, clearly define the responsibilities of agencies and units to ensure effective fire prevention and fighting work in the province, avoiding unfortunate problems, especially in the upcoming hot season.

Also this morning, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council also listened to and commented on the list of Draft Resolutions submitted at the Provincial People's Council meetings in 2018.

Accordingly, it is expected that 33 Draft Resolutions will be submitted to the Provincial People's Council in 2018. Notably, there are a number of Draft Resolutions adjusting and expanding the administrative boundaries of Cua Lo town; on the housing development program of Nghe An province until 2025, with a vision to 2030; a number of policies for cadres, civil servants and public employees from the lowlands working in the highlands; reward policies for collectives and individuals with high achievements in international and national competitions and awards prescribed by the province...

Head of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council Phan Duc Dong expressed his interest in improving the quality of supervision, especially the supervision of the Provincial People's Council on the organization of the apparatus, payroll, and labor contracts in state administrative agencies and public service units in the province.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council noted that the Provincial People's Council delegates need to fully participate in public reception activities according to regulations, and at the same time assigned the Provincial People's Council Office to supervise and remind delegates to strictly comply with this regime.

On the part of the Standing Committee and the Committees of the Provincial People's Council, we continue to pay attention to urging the implementation of the resolutions of the Provincial People's Council, especially the recommendations of voters. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also noted that this April, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council will organize training for the Provincial People's Council delegates, so he requested the Provincial People's Council Office to coordinate well with lecturers in selecting topics, especially new issues and contents to provide to the delegates, contributing to improving the skills and operational capacity of the Provincial People's Council delegates, contributing to improving the quality of the Provincial People's Council's activities.
