Revealing the topic of the meeting between President Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un
(Baonghean.vn) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will visit Russia in the next few days at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin, marking his first official visit in four years.

Leader Kim Jong-un will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, details about the time and location of the visit have not been announced yet.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Russia and North Korea have always maintained good relations, mutual respect and have had contacts at many levels.
The last time North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin met was in April 2019 in Vladivostok.
Expert Konstantin Asmolov of the Institute of Modern China and Asia, part of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said that the meeting between the leaders of Russia and North Korea could stem from moves by the US, Japan and South Korea, which Pyongyang sees as preparation for a conflict.
“This meeting will become a global event. Its theme may be the confrontation between the blocs: the Southern bloc – the US, Japan and South Korea, the Northern bloc – Russia, China and North Korea. And the Southern triangle has become institutionalized and is moving further north,” said expert Konstantin Asmolov.
According to Mr. Asmolov, in Pyongyang, the integration and formation of a counterweight bloc in the South can be seen as preparation for a conflict. This can also explain the meeting between President Putin and leader Kim Jong-un.
In August, the leaders of the United States, Japan and South Korea held their first trilateral summit in Washington. The talks resulted in an agreement on annual military exercises.
Washington, Tokyo and Seoul also agreed to impose sanctions against Russia, and reduce energy dependence from the country.
