The first components of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system were transferred by the US to South Korea on the evening of March 6 and began deployment on the morning of March 7.

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Russian Lower House of Parliament Leonid Slutsky frankly stated that the presence of THAAD in South Korea goes beyond the policy of containing North Korea and therefore, it can disrupt the strategic balance in the region. |
