College vice principal arrested for 'forgery at work'
Mr. Mai Xuan Minh - Vice Principal of Hai Phong Industrial College was prosecuted and temporarily detained to investigate the crime of "forgery in work".

On November 26, Mr. Vu Duc Huan - principal of Hai Phong Industrial College - confirmed that the security investigation agency of Nam Dinh Provincial Police had temporarily detained and searched the residence and workplace of Mr. Mai Xuan Minh - vice principal of this school.
According to Mr. Huan, the police agency has sent a notice to the school about Mr. Mai Xuan Minh being prosecuted and temporarily detained for the crime of "forgery in work".
Previously, Nam Dinh Provincial Police had also summoned Mr. Minh and a number of officers and teachers of the school many times to inquire about the organization of joint training to issue pedagogical certificates in Nam Dinh province.
Mr. Vu Duc Huan said that all of the school's training cooperation work was assigned to Mr. Mai Xuan Minh, so he himself was not aware of Mr. Minh's violations during his work.
Mr. Mai Xuan Minh was formerly the head of the training department of Hai Phong Industrial College. Since September 2016, Mr. Minh was appointed by the Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee as vice principal for a term of 5 years.
According to the 1999 Penal Code, the crime of "forgery in work" is to take advantage of one's position and power to commit one of the following acts for personal gain or other personal motives:
- Correcting or falsifying the content of documents or papers;
- Making and issuing fake documents;
- Forging signatures of people with positions and authority.
The penalty for this crime is 1-20 years in prison, 3-30 million VND.
