Touching images in Truong Sa and DK1 platform towards the General Secretary
Officers and soldiers from Truong Sa, DK1 Platform... were deeply moved and deeply saddened by the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Units simultaneously flew flags at half-mast and organized for soldiers to watch live television coverage of the funeral and memorial services.
At exactly 6:00 a.m. on July 25, Navy officers and soldiers at locations and islands in Truong Sa district (Khanh Hoa province) and DK1 platform held a flag-raising ceremony and held a memorial service for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - Secretary of the Central Military Commission.




Captain Nguyen Cong Hieu - Deputy Commander of DK1/10 Platform stationed at Ca Mau Shoal shared: "The hearts of the soldiers of DK1/10 Platform, stationed at Ca Mau Shoal, the border and fence of the Fatherland, all turn to the General Secretary, grateful for the General Secretary's contributions to the Party, the Fatherland, the army and the people.
When visiting the Navy, the General Secretary said: “I am very excited to see the image, the iron will, and the steadfastness of the forces protecting our sea and islands. The thoughts and actions of the comrades are extremely sacred and noble, demonstrating the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers - Navy soldiers in the new revolutionary period."
Taking to heart the General Secretary's teachings, the officers and soldiers of the DK1/10 platform are determined to turn this pain and loss into action, have absolute faith in the leadership of the Party and the management and administration of the State, uphold the spirit of solidarity, strive to study, train, and be ready to fight, promptly handle situations in the air and at sea, not to miss any targets, and are determined to excellently complete all assigned tasks, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sacred sea and continental shelf areas of the Fatherland."
Captain Dong Xuan Phong - Political Commissar of DK1/9 Platform shared that the General Secretary has taken the lead in the fight against corruption, waste, and cleaning up the apparatus. This is an extremely difficult and complicated task, but the General Secretary has done it and in fact the fight against corruption and waste has increasingly achieved many important results.
"Although General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has left us, the image of a man who was loyal to the country and devoted to the people; his ideology, lifestyle and especially what he did for the nation and the country will always be engraved and remembered by the Party, the State and every citizen with all gratitude and respect.
The General Secretary is a shining example for me to learn from and follow, contributing to firmly protecting the rigs, sea areas, and sacred continental shelf of the Fatherland," Captain Dong Xuan Phong shared.
Lieutenant Colonel Ho Quang Sinh, an officer of the Political Department, Naval Region 4 Command, sadly expressed his feelings in the poem Truong Sa remembers the General Secretary:
"Afternoon falls on Truong Sa waters
The square banyan tree gently blooms sadly
The other tea plant is sadly sprouting.
The sea morning glory flowers are sobbing in the rain.
Uncle! The wind stopped blowing.
Uncle returned to the world of the ancient people and the wise..."
In the land border areas, from early morning, border guard agencies and units simultaneously flew flags at half-mast; organized for soldiers to watch live television broadcasts of the General Secretary's visit and memorial service; and did not organize cultural, artistic, contest, or sports activities.
The 54m2 red flag with yellow star representing the will, aspirations and spirit of great solidarity of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam, along with the mourning ribbon, was slowly and respectfully raised by the Lung Cu border guards (Ha Giang) to the sound of the national anthem.
