Coach Park Hang-seo: I am not satisfied with this match

On the evening of December 30, coach Park Hang-seo and his team visited Singapore. Despite their best efforts, the Vietnamese team was still held to a draw by the home team and could not advance to the semi-finals of the AFF Cup 2022.

Speaking at the press conference, coach Park Hang-seo said: "I don't know if it's because of the artificial turf field.the players have a lot of unnatural movements or not. We have a home game left. Today, I rotated the players so I am not very satisfied.

When a reporter asked why he rarely changed his starting lineup, Coach Park complained: "I'm also someone who often changes the lineup, you guys should review the statistics. As for the Myanmar match, we'll consider it when we get back to Hanoi."

Coach Park also refused to comment on Singapore's playing style: "I always maintain the view that we should not judge our opponents. Singapore played well today, defended solidly and they are used to playing on artificial turf.

FIFA does not encourage the use of artificial turf because players are very susceptible to injury. But that is the AFF Cup Organizing Committee's regulation on the pitch, so I have no opinion."

At the AFF Cup 2020, the Vietnamese team lost the top spot in the group due to a poor goal difference with Indonesia. When asked if this risk would happen again this year, coach Park Hang-seo affirmed that "it will not happen and the Vietnamese team will solve everything in the match against Myanmar".

After 3 matches, the Vietnamese team has 7 points and continues to top Group B of the AFF Cup 2022. Singapore also has 7 points/3 matches and is ranked 2nd due to a goal difference behind the Vietnamese team (+3 compared to +9). In the final match, Coach Park Hang-seo and his team will host the eliminated team Myanmar at My Dinh Stadium on January 3, 2023.
