Pressure on China
Earlier, in the final joint communique of the G7 summit, held in the UK from June 11 to 13, the leaders of the participating countries expressed their intention to agree on a unified approach to China's "non-market policies and practices." According to the statement, the countries also intended to urge China to "respect human rights and fundamental freedoms, in particular in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region."
On this issue, Chinese authorities have expressed strong opposition to the countries participating in the G7 summit.
