"We have no intention of doing this. We just think that, unfortunately, the Germans are paying billions of dollars for the energy resources of the Russian Federation, and I can assure you that the German people do not like this," Donald Trump said.
Earlier, US Energy Secretary Rick Perry said that the United States plans to impose additional sanctions on the Russian energy sector, as well as against Nord Stream 2 - the second gas pipeline project from Russia to the EU. He stressed that this concerns the transportation of Russian gas through Ukraine. In addition, he said that the imposition of US sanctions against Nord Stream 2 will depend on the Russian Federation's efforts to implement the Minsk agreements and Russia's relations with neighboring countries.
