The pitiful situation of a Nghe An girl with a serious illness
(Baonghean.vn) - Right from birth, her family was in a very difficult situation, but it seemed that fate was intentionally harsher when she was diagnosed with a serious illness: bone cancer. That is the sad situation of Tran Thi Thuy Linh (born in 2014) in Dong 2 hamlet, Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district.
Since birth, Tran Thuy Linh has not known her father or paternal relatives. Her mother left her hometown to work far away for several years now, but has not sent any money back to her family. Linh and her brother Tran Nguyen The (born in 2009) are in 5th grade and live with their maternal grandparents and aunt. Unfortunately, Linh's maternal grandfather and aunt both have mental disabilities, leaving only her maternal grandmother Nguyen Thi Sen (54 years old) as the main breadwinner, having to work hard to support the whole family.
Before, when she was not sick, her grandmother could take Linh along to work to earn money to feed the family. 6 months ago, she broke her leg, had to be treated from the district hospital to the provincial hospital and discovered that she had bone cancer, her grandmother had to run around everywhere to borrow money for medicine and treatment for her grandchild. The family's life was already poor, now it is even more difficult.

Ms. Vuong Thi Nhan - Head of the Women's Association of Dong 2 Hamlet said: "Linh's grandparents' family has been poor for decades, it can be said that they are the poorest in the commune. In the whole family, only Mrs. Sen is normal. All the neighbors sympathize, those who have vegetables give vegetables, those who have rice share rice, but now Linh is seriously ill, has to go to Hanoi for treatment, it costs a lot of money but the neighbors can't help with anything."
Visiting Linh's house, we can feel the hardships of a family. All 5 people live in a dilapidated, leaky tiled house, without the means to repair it. There are no valuable items in the house except for 2 rickety beds, and a simple meal of only green vegetables... but Linh is very obedient and resilient in fighting against illness. Seeing her smile innocently and say: I want to go to school, I want to play like my friends, everyone feels sorry.

At only 5 years old, the age when most children are being held, nurtured, and loved by their families, especially their parents. However, Linh not only lacks the love and care of her parents, but every day, every hour she also has to fight the excruciating pain of bone cancer. “Linh loves to listen to books, loves to read books, loves to dance and sing even though she has never been to class. Taking care of her during the painful times of bone cancer, I can only cry. Other children have their mother and father by their side, but here she only has her grandmother, and no money, I am so heartbroken. Linh's illness is getting worse, all her hair has fallen out, and there is a big tumor on her left thigh. In the near future, the two of us will have to go to Hanoi to have our leg amputated as the doctor ordered during the previous examination,” Ms. Sen said about her grandchild, her tears choking her heart.
To raise more money for the treatment of bone cancer for Tran Thuy Linh, recently, the Kim Lien Commune Youth Union (Nam Dan) and some individuals organized a charity concert to raise money for her treatment, but the amount of money for Linh to go to Hanoi for treatment is much more than that. We hope that organizations, individuals, and philanthropists near and far will join hands to help the family have the conditions to continue taking her for treatment.
