5th grade student saves two drowning kindergarteners

(Baonghean.vn)- A 5th grade student in Thanh Chuong resettlement area, Nghe An bravely jumped into a deep stream to save 2 5-year-old boys in kindergarten from death.

Before that, at around 12 noon on October 2, Lo Duong Tu (a 5D student at Huong Tien Primary School, residing in Hien village, Ngoc Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district) went to the stream behind his house to wash his bicycle and raincoat. Tu saw two children Vi The Truong (5 years old) and Luong Gia Bao (5 years old), residing in the same village, standing on a small rock, preparing to jump into the stream to bathe. Tu told the two children not to bathe because the water there was very deep. In the hot weather, Truong and Bao continued to wade along the stream and bathe.

The stream where the two children drowned looks very clear from above, it looks shallow but is more than 2m deep.

Truong waded out to bathe but fell into a deep puddle and drowned. Seeing his friend drowning, Luong Gia Bao jumped out to pull him in and also drowned. At that time, standing on the shore, a younger sister named Kim Thoa (a 4th grade student) discovered Truong and Bao drowning and called Tu to come and save them.

Hearing the cries for help, Tu ran to the stream and pulled the two children to shore. Truong and Bao were crying a lot because they were scared because they had drunk too much water.

Sharing about her student’s brave action, teacher Luong Thi Nguyen (homeroom teacher of Lo Duong Tu) said: “My classmates and I really admire Lo Duong Tu’s action of saving his friend. Tu is a well-behaved, polite, and good student.”

Lo Duong Tu, a 5th grade student, is the brave man who saved two kindergarten children.

Mr. Dau Dinh Duc - Principal of Huong Tien Primary School shared: "The school has commended and encouraged Tu and will reward the student according to Circular 22, which is an unexpected reward for Tu. After learning about the incident, the school sent a report to the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Chuong district to request a reward."

To promptly reward Tu, on October 4, the Executive Committee of the Ngoc Lam Commune Youth Union also made a proposal to suddenly reward the brave Team Member who saved a drowning friend.
