On August 18, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 2641/QD-UBND on the 2025-2026 school year schedule for preschool education, general education and continuing education applied in Nghe An province.
Accordingly, in the 2025-2026 school year, the entire education sector will organize the school opening on August 25, 2025.Opening ceremonywill be held on September 5, 2025. The school start date for Nghe An students is nearly a week later than many other provinces and cities across the country.

According to the school year plan, this school year will end semester I before January 18, 2026 and complete the program and end the school year before May 31, 2026.
Consideration of recognition of completion of primary school program and recognition of graduation from secondary school before June 30, 2026.
The province will complete enrollment for primary classes before July 31, 2026.
The 2026 high school graduation exam is scheduled to take place on June 11 and 12, 2026.
In addition, other national level exams are organized according to the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training. Provincial level exams, competitions, contests, and sports competitions are organized according to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training.
According to the decision of the Provincial People's Committee, the number of actual study weeks must ensure 35 weeks (semester I has 18 weeks, semester II has 17 weeks).

Holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code and annual guidelines. Teachers' annual leave is implemented during the summer vacation or can be arranged alternately at other times of the year to suit the specific situation and school year schedule of Nghe An province.
During the implementation process, the Department of Education and Training will advise the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to decide on school breaks and extend the school year in special cases; Decide on allowing students to take time off in case of extreme weather, natural disasters and arrange make-up classes; Announce exam schedules, provide instructions on provincial exams and competitions.
