Security Council highlights role of international cooperation in handling hotspots
On December 7, the United Nations Security Council sent a message promoting the role of the international community in handling crises and hotspots around the world.

The message was delivered during talks between the UN Security Council delegation and US President Barack Obama, senior leaders of the US Senate and the Pentagon during a visit to Washington.
US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power said the visit highlighted the urgent need for international cooperation.
According to Ms. Power, in meetings with members of the United Nations Security Council, President Obama and senior US officials have delivered a common message that international engagement plays an important role in dealing with the current widespread threats from the self-proclaimed "Islamic State" (IS) organization to the crisis in Syria and the violence in Burundi, South Sudan, Yemen and other places./.
