Provincial People's Council surveyed the quality of human resources and the situation of children whose parents work far away in Ky Son.
(Baonghean.vn) - On November 30, the working delegation of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of the Provincial People's Council organized a survey on the effectiveness of state management, the quality of human resources and the impacts on children when parents go to work far away from ethnic minority areas in Ky Son district.
The delegation included Comrade Lo Thi Kim Ngan - Standing Member of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Ethnic Committee of the Provincial People's Council and comrades in the Ethnic Committee of the Provincial People's Council.
The purpose of the survey is to assess the implementation and effectiveness of state management, the quality of human resources and the impacts on children when parents work far away (from 2021 to 2023) in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Detect existing problems, limitations, obstacles and difficulties; determine the causes and responsibilities of authorities at all levels, agencies and units in the implementation process, thereby recommending and proposing effective measures and solutions in the coming time.

Currently, Ky Son district has a total of 2,398 cadres, civil servants and public employees, of which 1,305 are ethnic minorities (including the People's Council, the District People's Committee, public service units under the District People's Committee, the People's Committees of communes, towns and schools).
The total number of workers in the district in 2023 is 51,305, of which 1,755 workers participate in vocational training classes; 151 workers go to work abroad under labor contracts; 120 workers are supported under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Socio-economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas.

The training and fostering of ethnic minority cadres, civil servants and public employees has always been of interest to the district Party Committee and government. In the past 3 years, the district has sent more than 1,446 people to attend training and fostering courses, focusing mainly on training in professional qualifications, political theory; fostering state management and professional titles.
Through statistics and screening, as of November 27, 2023, in Ky Son district, there are 3,174 children whose parents work far away (of which 263 children have parents working in the province; 2,911 children have parents working outside the province). The number of children whose parents work far away mainly live with grandparents, relatives in the family...

In Ky Son district, the working group conducted a survey in Huu Kiem and Ta Ca communes, grasping the number of commune-level cadres, civil servants, and public employees and the working situation of the units. Both communes have a source of cadres and civil servants with basic training and are currently lacking human resources in some positions, so they have to hold concurrent positions.
Huu Kiem and Ta Ca communes both have many children whose parents work far away and have to live with grandparents and relatives. This reality has more or less affected their studies and health care. The local government has taken a number of measures to help, such as connecting with charitable organizations to give gifts, improving the effectiveness of boarding schools in the area to support children in difficult circumstances, etc.

On behalf of the working delegation, Comrade Lo Thi Kim Ngan requested local leaders to enhance their responsibilities, effectively assign management, leadership and direction, and promote the dynamism and creativity of the staff, civil servants and public employees. At the same time, pay more attention to children whose parents work far away./.
