Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that in the nearly 30 years from the time he left until his return to the Fatherland, Nguyen Tat Thanh, who later became leader Nguyen Ai Quoc - the beloved President Ho Chi Minh, had fulfilled his noble historical mission of bringing to the Vietnamese people the flag and aspiration for national independence associated with socialism. From patriotism, he found the scientific and revolutionary light of Marxism-Leninism; became an international communist soldier, an active activist, enthusiastically spreading Marxism-Leninism into the Vietnamese revolutionary movement. He founded the Communist Party of Vietnam, led our entire nation to rise up and gain glorious victory in the historic August Revolution of 1945, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the first people's democratic state in Southeast Asia, bringing our nation into a new era: national independence and socialism.
To continue promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that the delegates attending the conference continue to analyze and clarify his journey and great aspiration for national independence, and to gain a deeper understanding of the immortal values in the great legacy he left for our nation, our people and all progressive humanity. Thereby, to promote research and to understand more deeply the stature and extremely great and precious value of Ho Chi Minh's legacy, especially the aspiration for national independence and socialism, to successfully carry out the renovation process and ensure the country's rapid and sustainable development, following the socialist orientation.

The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee stated that the Party Committee, the government and the people of Ho Chi Minh City are honored, proud and deeply responsible for those meanings, therefore, 40 years after being named after President Ho Chi Minh, the city has made strong progress on the path of construction and development. That is not only a source of pride but also a sacred duty of the Party Committee, government and people of the city in studying and following Uncle Ho's example.
The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also believes that each conference will have new, deeper and more valuable discoveries. Those discoveries and values are not only to honor Uncle Ho's contributions to the Fatherland and the nation, but more than that, to learn from, to follow, to realize the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous Fatherland as affirmed in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress.
