Today, candidates for National Assembly and Provincial People's Council deputies campaigned.

Election campaigning activities of candidates for National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels are regulated by the 2015 Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies.

The election campaign of candidates is carried out in the form of meeting and directly contacting voters through voter contact conferences in the locality where they are running for election and through the mass media.

Thereby, candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies report to voters about their planned action programs to fulfill their responsibilities as deputies if elected as National Assembly deputies or People's Council deputies; at the same time, discuss issues of concern to voters; create conditions for voters to contact candidates, understand them better, on that basis, consider, select and elect truly representative people to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.

According to the Law on Election of Deputies to the National Assembly and People's Councils, the election campaign period begins from the date of announcement of the official list of candidates and ends 24 hours before the start of voting.

Based on regulations, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province has developed and issued a schedule for organizing meetings with voters and campaigning for 23 candidates for the 15th National Assembly and 138 candidates for the 18th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026.

Accordingly, the schedule for meeting voters and election campaigns of candidates for National Assembly deputies and provincial People's Council deputies will start today, May 5, and will last until May 18, 2021.

Specifically, it is expected that there will be 57 meetings to meet voters and campaign for 23 candidates for National Assembly deputies in 5 constituencies; 149 meetings to meet voters and campaign for 138 candidates for provincial People's Council deputies in 26 constituencies in 21 districts, cities and towns in the province.

On the first day today (May 5), there are 5 locations for organizing meetings with voters and election campaigns for candidates for National Assembly deputies in Do Luong and Tan Ky districts; there are 8 locations for organizing meetings with voters and election campaigns for candidates for Provincial People's Council deputies in 4 localities: Do Luong, Anh Son, Tan Ky and Cua Lo town.
