More than 150 overseas Vietnamese youth offer incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh

(Baonghean.vn) - More than 150 overseas Vietnamese youth and students living in 28 countries and territories around the world visited their paternal and maternal homelands and offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Kim Lien Relic Site (Nam Dan). This activity is part of the program "Vietnam Summer Camp 2019".

Participating in the “Vietnam Summer Camp 2019” are more than 150 delegates who are overseas Vietnamese youth and students from 28 countries and territories with good achievements in studying and working and many contributions to the movement of building a united community and looking towards the homeland.

In Nghe An, overseas Vietnamese students visited their paternal and maternal hometowns and offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at Kim Lien Relic Site (Nam Dan), and visited and experienced many meaningful activities in Cua Lo town.

According to the plan, in addition to Nghe An, the program will continue to be implemented until July 26 in the following provinces and cities: Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Quang Nam, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan and Ho Chi Minh City with many rich and useful activities.

The program "Vietnam Summer Camp 2019" is one of the practical activities to implement Directive No. 45 - CT/TW dated May 19, 2015 of the Politburo on continuing to promote work with overseas Vietnamese in the new situation.

The program was organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with relevant agencies and localities, including Nghe An province, to help the young generation of overseas Vietnamese have the opportunity to access and understand more deeply the thousand-year-old cultural roots, long history and patriotic traditions of the nation.

Over 15 years of implementation, the program has attracted the participation of nearly 2,000 Vietnamese youth and students from more than 30 countries and territories.
