More than 200 hectares of rice in Quy Chau are infected with brown planthoppers and white-backed planthoppers.
(Baonghean.vn) - The alternating sunny and rainy weather and high humidity have caused brown planthoppers and white-backed planthoppers to develop and attack summer-autumn rice fields. To proactively prevent the disease, the Quy Chau District Plant Protection and Cultivation Station has coordinated with farmers to increase field inspections and promptly handle the situation to limit the impact on rice yields.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha's family in Block 3, Tan Lac town, has 0.3 hectares of rice that have been devastated by brown planthoppers and white-backed planthoppers. After discovering yellow leaves and brown planthoppers and white-backed planthoppers on the rice plants, her family proactively sprayed Sutin to minimize damage to the family's rice yield.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Linh, in charge of the Cultivation and Plant Protection Station of Quy Chau district, said: "To proactively and effectively prevent and minimize damage caused by pests and diseases, not allowing them to arise and spread, causing widespread damage, affecting rice yield, it is recommended to spray pesticides only on areas with a density of 1,000 planthoppers/m2 for rice areas from the tillering to panicle formation period.2or more with one of the following drugs: Chess 50WG, Oshin 20WP, Elsin 10 EC, Sutin 50 SC, Chatot 600 WG... to spray according to the recommended dose. When spraying, it is not necessary to split the rice, but it is necessary to ensure enough amount of water (24-30 liters/500m2) and lower the nozzle to evenly wet the rice stem and leaves.
To effectively prevent planthoppers, farmers need to regularly visit their fields and promptly detect pests. In addition, balanced fertilization for rice plants is also very important; farmers should absolutely not apply excess nitrogen./.
