More than 250 artisans and actors participate in the Folk Performing Arts Festival of Ethnic Minorities in Nghe An Province
On the morning of October 25, in Vinh city, the Provincial Ethnic Committee held the opening ceremony of the 2024 Nghe An Province Folk Performing Arts Festival.
Attending the opening ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vo Van Dung - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Vi Van Son - Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee; representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors, and units; leaders of districts and cities with a large number of ethnic minorities, and more than 250 artisans and actors from the Mass Art Troupe of 11 districts and towns in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Nghe An Province Ethnic Minority Folk Performing Arts Festival, Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated: Nghe An is a province with many ethnic groups living together, with nearly 440,000 ethnic minorities residing in 12 districts and towns, with a natural area of 13,745 km2.2, accounting for 83% of the province's total area.

The ethnic minorities of the province have both common characteristics of the ethnic groups in the country and unique characteristics of their own.ethnic minorityIn Nghe An in many aspects, it is shown in the treasure of Vietnamese cultural heritage with strong imprints of cultural identity of ethnic minorities in Nghe An.

Over the years, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee have always paid attention to the Cultural Development Strategy of the whole province in general and the culture of ethnic minorities in particular. The Folk Performing Arts Festival of Nghe An Province's Ethnic Minorities is a periodic activity held every 5 years, which is both an opportunity for the province's ethnic minorities to deeply express their intangible cultural values to the Vietnamese ethnic community and to demonstrate the cultural and artistic movements of ethnic minorities in the area.

At the same time, it demonstrates solidarity, exchange and mutual learning among ethnic groups of the districts; it is also an opportunity forartist, the cultural and artistic cores of the ethnic groups of the localities perform folk songs, folk music, folk dances and impart the traditional cultural values of each ethnic group to the public of the province, inspiring the younger generation to respect, cherish and preserve the cultural identity of each ethnic community.
The 2024 Nghe An Province Folk Performing Arts Festival brings together 11 mass art troupes from districts and towns in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

The festival will take place over one day and is expected to close on the afternoon of October 25.
After the opening ceremony is the competition of the Tan Ky and Que Phong District Mass Art Troupe.
