More than 3,500 Vietnamese people have been evacuated from the war zone in Ukraine.

According to Vietnamese representative agencies in Ukraine and neighboring countries, as of 6:00 p.m. on March 7, 2022, the representative agencies had received more than 3,500 Vietnamese people evacuated from the war zone in Ukraine.

Of these, more than 2,200 people are in Poland; about 830 people are in Romania; 310 people are in Hungary; more than 100 people are in Slovakia, and about 20 people are in Russia.

Vietnamese representative agencies have supported necessary procedures and documents for people entering and transiting the country and coordinated with local authorities and Vietnamese associations in the host country to welcome, arrange transportation, temporary accommodation and meals, and provide essential items for people.

On March 7, 2022, flight number VN88 of Vietnam Airlines departed from Hanoi to Bucharest to pick up 283 citizens from Bucharest (Romania), expected to land at Noi Bai airport at noon on March 8, 2022. Our Embassy in Romania organized and supported the transportation of people to the airport; requested and coordinated with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and airport authorities to support smooth exit procedures.

Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively coordinating with relevant ministries, branches, agencies and Bamboo Airways to actively prepare to organize a flight on March 9, 2022, flight number QH9066, expected to carry 270 citizens departing from Warsaw (Poland), landing at Noi Bai airport on the morning of March 10, 2022.
