More than 30% of teachers failed the theory round at the Excellent Teacher Competition.

(Baonghean.vn) - The Competition for Excellent Secondary School Teachers has just announced the results of the first round. Accordingly, the number of candidates who failed the professional competency test is quite high at 33%.

The Provincial Excellent Teacher Competition at the Secondary School level is an outstanding professional activity of the Education sector in the 2016-2017 school year, held every 4 years. Teachers participating in the competition are teachers who have won the title of excellent district teacher at least twice, and have achieved good or higher in terms of secondary school teacher professional standards.

This year, the whole province had 517 teachers participating. After the first round of professional competence test (theory), the result was that 339/517 teachers scored 16 points or more (accounting for 67%) and were qualified to enter the practical test. However, no teacher achieved the absolute score of 20/20 points. Notably, 33% of the total number of candidates did not pass the professional competence test.

Starting from October 25, teachers will enter the practical exam round with 2 optional and 2 compulsory exams. The exam will last for 2 weeks at 4 town secondary schools and Dien Thanh secondary school (Dien Chau district) and Hai Hoa secondary school, Le Thi Bach Cat secondary school (Cua Lo town).

It is expected that by the end of next week, candidates will know the results. The condition for being recognized as a provincial excellent teacher is that the teacher must have a theoretical score of 16 points or more, a score of 6 points or more for the experience and initiative assessment, and the scores of the two practical tests must be good or higher. Of these, at least one practical test must be rated good.
