More than 4,000 candidates take national excellent student exam
On the morning of January 6, more than 4,400 candidates nationwide began taking the 2016 national high school exam.
The exam lasted for three days, January 6-8. Today, candidates took written tests in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, and a computer programming test in Information Technology.
On January 7, candidates will take written exams in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology; oral exams in English, Russian, French, Chinese; and computer programming in Information Technology. January 8 will be the time for practical exams in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
The Department of Testing and Education Quality Assessment (Ministry of Education and Training) said that the exam content follows the current high school education program and the specialized program of high school subjects.
Candidates taking the Foreign Language exam will continue to have a speaking test (monologue) and a practical test for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The speaking test time for each candidate is 10 minutes; of which 5 minutes is for preparation, the next 5 minutes is for answering and recording.
For the practical exam, Physics will test the parts of Mechanics, Electricity, and Optics; Chemistry will test the content of quantitative analysis; Biology will test the contents of: Plant Adaptation Ecology; Biochemistry and Cytology; Plant Physiology and Microbiology. The practical exam will last for 90 minutes.
In 2016, the exam was held earlier than every year to have more time to select and train teams to participate in regional and international Olympic competitions.
