More than 45,000 Nghe An students receive lunch support
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 28, the Department of Education and Training held a summary meeting of the School Education Quality Assurance Program (SEQAP) in Nghe An province.
Also attending were representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, a number of provincial departments, branches, and sectors, leaders and staff of departments, branches, and schools benefiting from the program.
The School Education Quality Assurance Program (SEQAP) has been implemented by the Ministry of Education and Training in 62 schools in 6 districts of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Quy Hop, Quy Chau and Que Phong since 2009.
This is a program to improve the quality of primary education by supporting the transition to a full-day teaching and learning model in disadvantaged primary schools, with attention paid to poor students and students in especially difficult circumstances.

Through this program, over the past 7 years, nearly 45,000 ethnic minority students in disadvantaged mountainous areas have been supported with lunch. In addition, the program also supports schools in organizing professional development programs for staff and teachers, focusing on specialized subjects such as music, fine arts, physical education - team work, foreign languages, information technology and ethnic language teachers. From the program, 75 classrooms, 10 multi-purpose classrooms and 58 toilets have been built, contributing to improving facilities and equipment for schools.

The effectiveness of the program has significantly contributed to improving the quality of primary education by supporting primary schools to convert to a full-day teaching and learning model, reducing the gap between groups of students in regions with different economic and social conditions; the rate of student attendance and the quality of teaching and learning have been significantly improved.

In the coming time, to maintain the program's sustainable results, schools need to continue to maintain and implement teaching for the entire sector. Expand and promote the social mobilization of education to mobilize contributions from parents, organizations, and sponsors to continue organizing boarding schools for students and deploy and replicate them to many other schools in the area.
On this occasion, the Department of Education and Training awarded 6 individuals and 6 groups that had many outstanding achievements in the implementation of the program./.
